Meet the Principal

Dr. Scott Ramsey proudly serves as the principal of Fannin County High School, now in his fifth year in the role and his 14th year at FCHS. With over 32 years of experience in education, he brings a deep commitment to student success, staff support, and community engagement.

Dr. Ramsey holds a doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Alabama. His leadership is guided by a belief in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving school culture.

He is married to Capprice Ramsey, a dedicated educator at Blue Ridge Elementary. Together, they share five children and a grandson. As a family, they enjoy traveling and spending time together.

Dr. Ramsey considers it a true honor to lead Fannin County High School and serve the greater Fannin community.

Meet the Assistant Principal

Ms. Mandy Housley, a proud native of Blue Ridge, Georgia, is a 2003 graduate of Fannin County High School. Deeply rooted in her community, Mandy has dedicated her career to education and has worked for the Fannin County School System since 2017 and has been an assistant principal at FCHS since 2022.  Known for her compassionate leadership and commitment to student success, she brings both experience and heart to her role.

Outside of her professional life, Mandy enjoys reading, exploring the outdoors, and cherishing quality time with her family and beloved pets. Her love for learning and nature continues to inspire those around her, both in and out of the classroom.

Meet the Assistant Principal

Mr. Alan Collis is a lifelong member of our community who brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role as Assistant Principal. With deep roots in the Fannin County School System, Mr. Collis attended and graduated from the very school where he now serves.

Mr. Collis holds a Georgia Educator Certificate in Educational Leadership and History for grades 6-12. His academic background includes an Ed.S. in Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University, an M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College, and a B.A. in History & Political Science from Carson-Newman 

While at Carson-Newman, Collis was an All-American Football Player and received the Jacobs Blocking Trophy along with multiple First Team All-SAC Honors.  He is a current member of the Fannin County Athletic Hall of Fame.

Mr. Collis has served as a teacher and coach within the Fannin County School System since August 1999. His coaching career at Fannin County High School includes Assistant Football Coach, Tumbling Coach for Competition Cheerleading, Assistant Softball Coach, Head Softball Coach, and Assistant Wrestling Coach. At Fannin County Middle School, he served as Assistant Wrestling Coach, Head Wrestling Coach, Head Basketball Coach, and Assistant Football Coach. He also dedicated years to coaching USA Wrestling, Softball, and Track and Field within the Fannin County Recreation League.

Mr. Collis shares his life with his wife, Heather, who serves as the Director of Curriculum for the district. They are proud parents to three children—Alexis, Taylor, and Carson—all graduates of Fannin County High School, and doting grandparents to Norah and Emmett.

Meet the Athletic Director

Jeremy King is a 2007 graduate of Fannin County High School. After high school, he attended Valdosta State University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Athletic Training.

After working in the field of sports medicine at an orthopedic clinic, Mr. King joined Fannin County High School and served as a healthcare science teacher and the athletic trainer for 11 years.  During that time, he continued his education and earned a Master's degree in Adult and Career Education and a Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Valdosta State University.  Mr. King was recognized as the 2020 FCHS Teacher of the Year and 2020 District Teacher of the Year.  Additionally, he was a member of the 2019-2020 class of Georgia's LEAD CTAE Program. 

Now in his second year as Athletic Director, Mr. King is committed to fostering excellence in both academics and athletics.  Over the past 12 years, he has worked side by side with our coaches in every sport and assisted athletes in overcoming obstacles to be successful in their sport.  His leadership reflects a strong dedication to student development, teamwork, and community pride. 

Beyond the school day, he enjoys spending time camping, going to concerts, or attending sporting events with his wife Christa and their children Evie, Lyla, and Thaddeus. They can often be seen in the stands (or on the track) cheering on the Rebels.
