Education

2014-2016: Graduate of the University of Georgia

2012-2014: University of North Georgia

2012: Graduate of Fannin County High School

Experience

This past May I graduated from the University of Georgia and this upcoming school year will be my first year teaching. I could not be any more honored and excited to return to my alma mater to begin my teaching career. Fannin High instilled integrity and success in my life during my time as a student, and I am excited to give back to the system and current students! This year, I will be teaching the Family and Consumer Sciences Foods and Nutrition pathway. During my time at FCHS, I was heavily involved in the Family and Consumer Sciences program and FCCLA organization that I will now be teaching and advising. I will also be serving as the assistant cheerleading coach for football and basketball season. I’m sure you will be seeing me with students around campus often! Being a teacher means more to me than coming to class each day and lecturing students. Being a teacher means that I want to become deeply invested in the lives of each of my students and serve them the best way that I know how. I am eager to begin the first year of what will become a lifetime of teaching and service to the students at Fannin County High School. Thanks for letting me mentor and love on your kiddos!

Bio

I have lived in Blue Ridge since I was three years old. I graduated from Fannin County High School in 2012. I completed my first two years of college at the University of North Georgia before transferring to the University of Georgia where I earned a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. I am engaged to be married this October to Caleb Owenby, also a graduate of Fannin County High School and a native of Fannin County. In my spare time, I enjoy going to church, spending time with friends, hiking in the mountains, and crafting all things on Pinterest! Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family as much as possible! I love working with teenagers, and I am blessed to be able to invest in their lives by teaching. I can’t wait to meet each and every one of my students who will forever be remembered as one of my “first ever students!”
