I am very excited to begin my eleventh year in the teaching profession and my second year here at Fannin County High School.  I began my teaching career at Pickens High School teaching ninth through eleventh grade English courses, including 9th English Honors and Communication Skills.  While at Pickens, I was the sponsor of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Head Volleyball Coach for five years, and Assistant Soccer Coach for two years.  I also served as chaperone for the Education First (EF) Tours to London and Paris in 2014.  I have worked as a state proctor for the End of Course Exam, Student Learning Objective Exams, and the SAT. I was voted Teacher of the Year in 2014 at Pickens High School and Honored as the Atlanta Falcons Symmetra Hero in the Classroom in the 2014-2015 year.

I live here in Blue Ridge and drove to Pickens each day for nine years! I have come to Fannin County High School to serve our students in our hometown. More importantly, I am here to serve my own children, Hannah and Christian, closer to home. This year, I will be specializing in drama and ninth grade Honors English. What I would truly like to incorporate, however in the school very soon is a continued tour to London and Paris to allow our students an educational opportunity that they will never forget!

Thank you for allowing me to serve you and our students.

I am originally a native of the Copper Basin community, specifically the Isabella area. I am currently a twelve-year resident of Blue Ridge.  I met my beautiful wife, Elizabeth, in Blue Ridge.  My wife and I have been married for twelve years and we have two amazing and beautiful children: Hannah, who is six years old, and Christian, who is four years old.  I have come to work at Fannin primarily to be closer to and serve my children, specifically Hannah.  Hannah was diagnosed with Rett's Syndrome four years ago and she depends on me and my wife immensely.  My wife, my rock, is an amazing mom and I cannot have been blessed further.  I also serve as the Youth Director at the First United Methodist Church in Copperhill, TN.  I have served there for six years.  I love to read, watch movies, and travel.  I am an extreme fan of the British and their authors, plays, movies, and television.  I have traveled to London and Paris, both two of my favorite places in the world.  If I achieve my goal of getting my Doctorate degree some day in the future, my wish is to have folks call me "Doctor" . . . but only "Doctor" . . . and in a British accent (as they do so in the wildly amazing British TV series Doctor Who).

I look forward to working with everyone and, until then, I leave you with my favorite quote in history:

"Do not pray for easier lives; pray to be stronger men." -- John Fitzgerald Kennedy
