I obtained my most recent degree, a M.Ed in Education in Science and Reading, at the University of Georgia. I also attended the post-baccalaurate program at University of North Georgia to obtain my teaching certificate. Also at the University of Georgia, I earned a B.A. by double-majoring in History and Anthropology. A few years earlier, I attended Young Harris College, earning an A.S. with a concentration in Science.

This year will be my eleventh year teaching. In these years, I've taught many subjects in many grade levels from 4th graders to adults seeking a high school diploma. At one time, I also served as the director of the alternative school program in Clarke County, but my love of teaching brought me back to the classroom a couple years ago. I also have coached many sports including softball and track.

A 1997 graduate of Towns County High School, I am from Hiawassee, Georgia. While in high school, I played sports, participated in many extra-curricular activities, and participated in the dual-enrollment program with Young Harris College. Young Harris really fostered my love for education as I can safely say I took almost every course offered there. As I have moved on throughout my personal educational and teaching experiences, I frequently fall back on information gathered in these introductory courses.

I am married and have three awesome sons: Luke, Colt, and Max. When not at school, I enjoy the wonders of the outdoors as often as possible. I love to read and draw, am an avid local historian, and amateur entomologist.
