Recently, retired Atlanta Journal Constitution Photographer, Joe McTyre, donated his entire inventory of audio and video equipment to the technology program at Fannin County High School.  During his career in journalism, Joe started a small video business filming weddings and events.  By the end of his career, Joe was filming concerts in Nashville, TN for the Ben Speer Family and sending videos all over the world.

While attending a FCHS band concert last year, Joe saw the students filming the event.  He approached Bubba Gibbs, the audio/video technology teacher at FCHS, and asked if the program could benefit from some additional equipment.  Gibbs gladly accepted the offer, and McTyre donated approximately $30,000 worth of audio and video equipment to the school system.  The equipment ranges from remote controlled cameras and monitors to high quality wireless microphones and cables.

On Monday, February 6th, Joe visited FCHS to demonstrate the equipment to the students and discuss his photography and video career with the audio/video class.  FCHS sincerely appreciates the donation, and we will be integrating the equipment into our classroom.
