Academic Coach

I am a native of Union County and a Woody Gap High School graduate.  I graduated from North Georgia College with a B.S. degree in Middle Grades Math and Science.  I earned a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama, and a Ed.S. Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College.  I began my teaching career at Lumpkin County Middle School where I taught for six years.  After staying home with my three children, I returned to teaching at Union County Middle School.  After seven years at the middle school level, I transferred to Union County High school where I taught Special Education for three years.  I moved into the science department to teach Biology and served as department chair. While at the high school I earned my special education certificate and Gifted endorsement.   In 2013 I accepted a position as District Testing Coordinator.  I moved to Fannin County High School in 2015.  I taught Biology and served as part-time Academic Coach.  I am currently serving as the full-time Academic Coach.  My husband Bob, a former U.S. Army Ranger and public school teacher, is a technology specialist for Mountain Education Charter High School.  We have three sons.  Clay is an apprentice at Yancy Caterpillar, Zach is a motorcycle technician, and Adam is a sophomore at Appalachian State University.  Our family celebrated the birth of our first grandchild, Anna Lynn, in June, 2016.

I love to travel and visit new places.  I'm an avid reader and Pinterest addict.
