Nutrition Manager

I am a native Texan; I was born in Ft. Worth, Texas. I graduated from Irving High School in 1980, married in 1984 and promptly became a Georgian. I made it to God’s country (Suches, Georgia) by way of Florida and have lived in the area since 2000. I have three grown children and four grandchildren thus far.

Though I did not pursue a career in teaching, I have always taught. I homeschooled my youngest daughter for ten years and throughout those years I enjoyed being a volunteer leader in several community and civic organizations such as Girl Scouts and 4H. At my church I have served as Children’s Church director and have taught and ministered to women at the Fannin County Jail.

I started working for the Fannin County School System in October 2009 as a substitute food service assistant. In January 2010, I was hired full time as a food service assistant at Fannin High School. The following school year, I worked at West Fannin Elementary and in the next school year, was promoted to Nutrition Program Manager at Fannin County High School.

My goals as nutrition manager include educating and coaching our community into becoming partners in the health of our children through the school lunch program, while at the same time teaching students the lifelong benefits of healthy living.
