Assistant Principal/Athletic Director

I am a 1989 graduate of Nantahala High School.  In 1993, I graduated from Western Carolina University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering Technology.  I earned my B.S. in History Education from The University of North Carolina at Asheville.  I then earned my Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in 2000, followed by my Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision in 2002. The culmination of my pursuit of higher education came in 2010 when I earned my Ed.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Alabama.

I spent the first six years of my career teaching at Nantahala High School.  I taught history and served as the head basketball coach and head softball coach during my time there.  In 2000 I moved to Whitfield County in Georgia to take a job at Southeast Whitfield High School.  I was at Southeast from 2000 to 2012.  While at Southeast I taught history and coached a variety of sports, but primarily basketball.  I served as the athletic director at Southeast from 2004 to 2012. This is my fifth year as an assistant principal at Fannin County High School.

My wife, Ginger, and I have three children, Serena, 20, who is a junior at Dalton State College majoring in chemistry, Noah, 18, who is a freshman at the University of Louisiana at Monroe where he plays football, and AnnaMaria, 14, who is a freshman and plays volleyball at Southeast Whitfield High School.
