Technology Specialist

I have lived in Fannin County all my life and am a 1999 graduate of Fannin County High School.  While in high school, I was a member of the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) for 3 years and the yearbook staff for 4 years where I served as editor my junior and senior years.  I was also on the honor roll and principals' list.  After high school, I attended North Georgia Technical College in Blairsville and graduated in 2002 with an Associate's Degree in Accounting.  While in college, I began working for a local real estate company were I served as office manager for 8 years until 2009.  During my time in real estate, my dad and I started our own real estate investment company in 2004.  From 2004 to 2009 we purchased property and constructed 14 investment cabins in Fannin County.  Starting a business at such a young age taught me great responsibility, hard work, and skills that I will use for the rest of my life.

I have served on the board of The Fannin County Empty Stocking Program Board of Directors since 2007 and currently serve as treasurer of the program.  In the past I have also been involved with the Fannin County Band Booster Club (3 years).

In August 2009 I started substitute teaching for the Fannin County School System, mostly at Fannin County High School and Blue Ridge Elementary.  I soon realized that the school system was something I wanted to be a part of.  In March of 2010, I was asked to substitute for the position I hold now, technology specialist at the high school.  In January 2011, I started this position full time.

My love of technology started back in high school.  I have always enjoyed computers and still do.  My position at the high school consists of troubleshooting day to day technology issues, assisting students, teachers and staff with technology related problems, maintaining the school's website, keeping an inventory record of all the technology equipment on campus, and those are just a few of my responsibilities.  We currently have over 1,700 pieces of equipment on campus (including projectors, interactive boards, desktop computers, laptops, iPads, Chromebooks, student response systems, printers, etc.).  I love my job and look forward to going to school every day.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching Atlanta Braves games, going to Braves games (Rome, Gwinnett and Atlanta), playing fantasy baseball, attending FCHS sporting events, listening to music and maintaining a growing eBay business.
